The likelihood is profound that I am doing this wrong Mr. Kerr BUT let's give it go anyway. I've seen your work Matt, even been a subject of it (no surprise, we hot dwarfs are irresistible as photo material). No doubt the whole book has eye candy to provoke, motivate and inspire and simply enjoy. My favorite shot though that you showcased here tho is the very first one, a color explosion and motion collide. Groovy.

@casey
Thanks for the post. I try very hard to take my camera everywhere, however, I seem to find an excuse to not bring one. The link you provided either is linking to the wrong website, or franks site is down. I'll google him to check out his stuff!

Frank Ockenfels 3 is my personal choice for photography greatness. His unique approach and style is created by what he calls 'the 15 minute minute shoot' -- he claims, nay, believes all he needs to do is spend some serious time with his client and in less than 15 minutes, take "their" portrait. In a book I read last year, he spoke about this technique and how effective it is. There's a million ways to take a portrait, but their is only one true way to capture who it is you're photographing. He has several cameras lying around his house and each day he makes a conscious decision before leaving, what camera he'll take with him. He also admits that several of his more famous works were mistakes, but he relishes in the fact he caught the mistake.

His photography is pretty wild, but I have a hard time connecting to it as a photograph. It's so surreal that it merges into a different kind of media. I'd love to see the process he goes through to create his pictures though!

Thanks for the first comment! I checked out Dave Hill and I have to agree/disagree His work is really creative and interesting, however, I find that is a little too surreal for my taste. He does have an interesting selection of subjects though!

I love Dave Hill's photography ... especially his treatments on his images and the creativity behind all his shoots.
