Fashion for Cancer

A colleague of mine decided a couple of months ago that she was going to cut off and donate her hair for the Cops for Cancer cause. A very noble thing to do. She asked me if I would take some pictures of her before she lopped it off, so she could remember what it was like. I was happy to oblige.

Tasty Tuesday #18

EveHere it is folks. Another edition of Tasty Tuesday. This is another shot from my portfolio selection while I was in school that didn’t make the cut. This is the same model that is in the Editorial Photography post from January, Eve is her name.

Tasty Tuesday #17

RobinShot in Victoria, BC, this was a runner up for my school portfolio. I worked with this couple all over Bastion Square and along the waterfront. It didn’t make the final cut because it didn’t flow with the rest of the images. What do you think of this one or my other Tasty Tuesday’s?

Conversational

I’d like to get some conversation going on this picture. What do you think of it? What are your thoughts, feelings, or interpretations? I’m open to anything, so hit me with it.
What? This was shot one very early morning down at the water of Esquimalt Lagoon on Royal Roads campus.

Tasty Tuesday #16

Here’s an outtake from a portrait session with Kaitlyn. We were getting near the end of the shoot and we were both a little tired I gave her the stereotypical “you’re a lion” pose to work with and this was the result. Priceless.
You're a lion! For those of you just catching on to what a Tasty Tuesday is all about. Here’s the rundown: scroll through your archives until you find an outtake, random image, second choice, or happy mistake and then post it on Tuesday. The goal is to keep it up weekly.

Facebook vs. the Job Interview

We’ve all been told before that story of how someone was not hired (or fired, demoted, sued, etc.) because of something that their soon-to-be employer (or former employer) saw on Facebook or some other social media site. It’s not uncommon for an employer to “Google” an applicant prior to offering them a job. So, you’ve gone and “removed” all that incriminating evidence. Now what? My thoughts are that you should flood it with good stuff. The stuff that employers want to see from a bright, committed, respectable and trustworthy team player such as yourself. I’d start off with a great profile picture from Kerr Photography (it’s the first thing I look at).
